What is Time Sharing?

Time Sharing is a technique that marks the beginning of computer communications. Time-sharing is a method of allowing multiple individuals on different terminals to access the same computer system simultaneously. Time-sharing is done logically after multiprogramming. In this time-sharing operating system multiple processes are assigned computer resources in time slots.

Who developed Pascal language?

Pascal is a high-level, general-purpose language created by Niklaus Wirth in the early 1970s. It is designed to teach programming as a systematic discipline and to develop reliable and efficient programs.

Pascal is an Algol based language and contains many Algol constructs. An algo is a fraction of 60 pascals. Pascal provides many data types and program structures. Pascal programs are easy to understand and maintain

what is computer system?

A computer is an electronic device that can be programmed to receive data (input), process, and produce results (output). Computers and their peripherals device and software are called computer systems.

Von Neumann ArchitectureElectronic Digital Interconnect and Computer (ENIAC), the first programmable binary computer based on the Von Neumann architecture.

In 1965, Intel co-founder Gordon Moore introduced Moore’s Law, which predicted that the number of transistors on a chip would double in two years and the cost would halve.

In the 1970s, large-scale integration (LSI) of electronic circuits made it possible to integrate a complete CPU on a single chip, called a microprocessor.

IBM introduced the first personal computer (PC) for home users in 1981, followed by the Macintosh machine in 1984.

Smart devices are becoming part of the Internet of Things (IoT).

What is bus? How Many types of bus?

Data is transferred between different parts of a computer system using physical wires called bus.

there ara three types of bus (i) Data bus (ii) Address bus and (iii) Control bus

Data bus – A data bus is usually a set of parallel wires connecting various parts in a circuit. A data bus to transfer data between different components. Between the USB port and the hard drive or between the hard drive and the main memory.

Address bus – Address bus to transfer addresses between CPU and main memory. The address of the memory location that the CPU wants to read or write from is specified in the address bus. It is used to identify particular locations (addresses) in main memory.

Control bus – Control bus to communicate control signals between different components of a computer.

Data bus is bidirectional. But the control bus and address bus are unidirectional.
